President of the Republic of Finland Alexander Stubb made a working visit to London on Monday 31 March 2025.
President Stubb met with Keir Starmer, Prime Minister of the United Kingdom.
The visit focused on deepening bilateral relations between Finland and the UK, as well as discussing the security situation in Europe and strengthening support for Ukraine.
“The UK will always have a special place in my heart. I’m happy that Prime Minister Starmer is taking a leading role in supporting Ukraine and in the efforts to bring an end to Russia’s war of aggression,” said President Stubb.
According to the President, Finland welcomes Britain’s deepening engagement with Europe.
Before his meeting with the Prime Minister, President Stubb delivered a speech at the London School of Economics and Political Science on changes in world politics. During the Q&A session that followed, the President answered questions from students on current foreign and security policy issues.
