President Stubb in Satakunta: “Finland has what it takes to become a clean energy superpower”


President of the Republic of Finland Alexander Stubb visited Rauma and Harjavalta in the Satakunta region of western Finland on Wednesday 26 March 2025.

The day began with a visit to the Rauma Marine Constructions Oy’s shipyard in Rauma. The President was shown the shipyard’s production facilities and the construction of the first Pohjanmaa-class multi-purpose corvette for the Finnish Navy.

The visit continued at the Karin campus, where the President met with students of the Hj. Nortamo Lower Secondary School and later with the general public.

“It’s always a pleasure to visit Rauma,” said President Stubb at the public event.

In the afternoon, the President visited the Oras Oy factory. Oras Oy, a manufacturer of faucets and other sanitary fittings, is celebrating its 80th anniversary this year. During the visit, the President was introduced to the company’s procuction site and the latest investments in new technology.

The programme ended in Harjavalta with the inauguration of Finland’s first industrial hydrogen plant, built by P2X Solutions Oy. In his address, the President congratulated P2X Solutions Oy, Harjavalta and Satakunta on the new production facility.

“I believe in technology. And I’m an optimist. Finland has what it takes to become a clean energy superpower,” said the President.
