President of the Republic of Finland Alexander Stubb met with UN High Commissioner for Refugees Filippo Grandi on Thursday 19 September 2024 at the Presidential Palace in Helsinki.
The President thanked the High Commissioner for his leadership in assisting and protecting displaced people around the world.
During his visit, High Commissioner Grandi also met Prime Minister Petteri Orpo, Minister for Foreign Trade and Development Ville Tavio, the Foreign Affairs Committee of the Finnish Parliament and representatives of Finnish NGOs.
High Commissioner for Refugees Filippo Grandi has led the UN Refugee Agency (UNHCR) since 2016. The UNHCR provides vital assistance and protection to refugees, asylum seekers, internally displaced persons and stateless people across the world.
