President Stubb visits Nato exercise in Rovaniemi: “Together we are stronger”


President of the Republic of Finland Alexander Stubb inspected the Finnish Army during an exercise in Rovaniemi on Monday 18 November 2024.

During his inspection visit, President Stubb was introduced to Lightning Strike 24, an exercise led by the Finnish Army Academy and part of Dynamic Front 25, a US-led NATO artillery exercise. Lightning Strike 24 will be conducted mainly in Rovajärvi in Finnish Lapland, where a total of some 3,600 soldiers will train from 4 to 28 November 2024.

During the day, the President met Finnish conscripts taking part in the exercise, as well as participants from the United Kingdom, the United States, France and other NATO countries.
