Mrs Suzanne Innes-Stubb, spouse of the President of the Republic of Finland, received an Advent calendar from the Guides and Scouts of Finland at the President’s residence in Munkkiniemi on Thursday, 21 November. The traditional Christmas greeting was brought by Malla Keinänen from the Pohjolan Pirteät troop in Oulu and Mimosa Sirviö from the Vuokatin Vaeltajat troop in Sotkamo.
Proceeds from the sale of the Advent calendars are used to fund scouting activities for children and young people all over Finland. The Advent calendar has been published since 1947. The 2024 calendar is illustrated by Henna Ryynänen.
