President Halonen to attend independence day celebrations in Lithuania

President of the Republic Tarja Halonen will travel to Vilnius on Thursday 11 March for the 20th anniversary celebrations of Lithuania’s re-independence.

The festivities will include a jubilee session of the Lithuanian parliament as well as a flag hoisting ceremony and military parade in the centre of Vilnius. The presidents of the Baltic States and other European countries, among others, will attend the international event.
