President Halonen to make state visit to Bulgaria

President of the Republic Tarja Halonen and Dr. Pentti Arajärvi will make a state visit to Bulgaria on 24-26 February 2003 at the invitation of President Georgi Purvanov.

The two presidents will have bilateral discussions on Tuesday 25 February. President Halonen will also meet Prime Minister Simeon Saxe-Coburg Gotha and Chairman Ognyan Gerdjikov of the National Assembly, which she will address. The presidential couple's programme also includes a visit to the historic Old Town in Plovdiv.

Foreign Trade Minister Jari Vilén and a delegation of Finnish business leaders will accompany the President.
