President of the Maldives to make working visit to Finland

President of the Maldives Mohamed Nasheed will make a working visit to Finland on 16-17 March 2010. President of the Republic Tarja Halonen will receive President Nasheed at the Presidential Palace on Tuesday 16 March for bilateral discussions and a working lunch.

During his visit, President Nasheed will also meet with Minister of Public Administration and Local Government Mari Kiviniemi, Minister of Economic Affairs Mauri Pekkarinen, Minister of the Environment Paula Lehtomäki, Speaker of the Eduskunta Sauli Niinistö, Minister for Foreign Affairs Alexander Stubb as well as with President Martti Ahtisaari. His programme also includes a seminar on climate change and leadership that is being arranged by the Finnish Institute of International Affairs and the Foreign Ministry. In addition to this, President Nasheed will meet with members of TUTKAS, an association of parliamentary deputies and scientists, as well as with representatives of the Finnish travel industry and the business sector.
