President Halonen met the Prime Minister of Nepal

President of the Republic Tarja Halonen met with Nepalese Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ”Prachanda” on Thursday 2 April, 2009 at the Presidential Palace. During their meeting, they discussed the bilateral relations between the two countries, in addition to Nepal's transition from a monarchy to a republic, the preparation of the new constitution as well as issues concerning human rights and freedom of speech.

Prime Minister Dahal visits Finland on 1-3 April 2009 and will also meet Prime Minister Matti Vanhanen and Minister for Foreign Trade and Development Paavo Väyrynen, among others, and visit Finnish companies and institutions.
