On Thursday 21 October, President of the Republic of Finland Sauli Niinistö visited the autumn meeting of the Delegation for Entrepreneurs, Confederation of Finnish Industries (EK).
In his speech at the meeting, President Niinistö said that the coronavirus crisis showed how well the Finnish society can pull through unexpectedly arising difficult crises. He also underscored the key role of entrepreneurs as providers of the foundations for the Finnish welfare society. “Risk bearers are needed – and we should give them the value they deserve”, President Niinistö said, describing the importance of entrepreneurship in society.
After the speech, journalist Jari Korkki interviewed the President about topical economic and political themes. The issues discussed included the way Finland pulled through the coronavirus situation, the future of the European economic policy, and the building of foundations for sustainable growth during the economic upturn following the coronavirus crisis.
