His Royal Highness Crown Prince Haakon visited Finland on 22–23 October 2013. President of the Republic Sauli Niinistö and his spouse Jenni Haukio received the Crown Prince at Mäntyniemi on Tuesday 22 October. They also hosted a dinner for the visit at the House of the Estates on the evening of the same day.
The programme for the first day of the visit included lunch provided by the City of Helsinki, a meeting with Prime Minister Jyrki Katainen, and a visit to the maritime engineering company Aker Arctic.
On the second day of the visit, Wednesday 23 October, the Crown Prince was introduced to Finnish education and culture, with visits to a local comprehensive school, Aalto University, the Ateneum Art Museum and Marimekko.
