On Monday 27 November 2023, President of the Republic of Finland Sauli Niinistö continued the informal talks between Finland and Sweden that he reinstituted at Kultaranta in 2014.
In addition to President Niinistö, Prime Ministers Ulf Kristersson and Petteri Orpo, Foreign Ministers Tobias Billström and Elina Valtonen, opposition leaders Magdalena Andersson and Antti Lindtman, as well as key social and economic influencers from Finland and Sweden participated in the meeting on current security issues and economic and technological cooperation.
The tradition of informal talks between Finnish and Swedish prominent influencers was originally initiated by Minister Aatos Erkko. Since 2014, informal meetings have been held in Finland and Sweden in 2015, 2016, 2017 and 2019.
