President of the Republic of Finland Sauli Niinistö had a telephone conversation with the United States Special Presidential Envoy for Climate John Kerry on the evening of 12 February 2021.
The topic of their conversation was the importance of the Arctic region in climate change mitigation and, in particular, the need to reduce black carbon and methane emissions. President Niinistö and Special Presidential Envoy for Climate Kerry also discussed the invitation extended to the United States to join the Coalition of Finance Ministers for Climate Action.
