President of the Republic Sauli Niinistö will attend an informal meeting of European presidents in Cracow, Poland, on 8–9 October 2013. The meeting will involve talks about solutions to the European crisis, trans-Atlantic relations and eastern partnerships. There will also be bilateral meetings between presidents.
This meeting of what is known as the Arraiolos Group will be hosted by Bronisław Komorowski, President of Poland. The presidents of Bulgaria, Italy, Latvia, Portugal, Germany and Estonia are also scheduled to attend. The Group took its name from the Portuguese town of Arraiolos where it first met in 2003; the number of participants has grown over the years. Meetings of the Group were held in Finland in 2005 and 2012.
