In their meeting on Friday 8 September, the President of the Republic and the Ministerial Committee on Foreign and Security Policy discussed the negotiations between Finland and the United States on a Defence Cooperation Agreement (DCA) and the progress made in that regard.
In addition, the President and the Ministerial Committee discussed the preparation of the Government’s Defence Report, which is to be started as stated in the Government Programme, and exchanged views on Russia’s aggression against Ukraine and the current security situation in Europe. The President and the Committee also received a briefing on Russian citizens’ entry into Finland at the eastern border.
