President of the Republic of Finland Sauli Niinistö met with Speaker of Parliament Petteri Orpo at Mäntyniemi on Monday 19 June 2023. After hearing the Speaker of Parliament, the President of the Republic gave a written statement to Parliament on the nominee for Prime Minister.

After having heard the Speaker of Parliament, I declare that the nominee for Prime Minister as referred to in section 61, subsection 2 of the Constitution is Party Leader, Member of Parliament and Master of Social Sciences Petteri Orpo.
